Are you motivated to help shape the next generation of battery technologies and clean energy systems?
We are seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the Battery Intelligence Group and Control Group at the Department of Engineering Science in-person in central Oxford. The post is funded by UKRI and Fortescue Zero and is fixed-term for 30 months or until 30/04/29, whichever is shorter.
The role spans two cutting-edge research projects developing digital tools for faster, smarter battery testing and advanced management systems to enhance battery performance in heavy industry. You’ll develop and apply state-of-the-art modelling, characterisation, and machine learning techniques to understand how batteries behave and age. Collaborating with project partners, you’ll turn these insights into practical methods for smarter testing and control. You’ll need to have expertise in modelling and simulation of dynamic systems, strong programming skills, and the ability to communicate your research clearly and effectively.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to david.howey@eng.ox.ac.uk and jack.umenberger@eng.ox.ac.uk
