The School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Greenwich is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in International Relations. Based at the stunning and historic world heritage site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, the School has a strong interdisciplinary ethos, offering course across a wide range of humanities and social science subjects. We place student experience at the core of our focus, nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility through both education and research.

The successful candidate will have expertise which complements and extends that of the existing Politics and International Relations team. You will be expected to participate in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to existing modules, developing new modules drawing on your own research, as well as engaging in the wider activities of the school. We are open to all thematic expertise in the field of international relations. However, we are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute with area specialism outside Europe, and who can build on and expand our current provision, with expertise focus on current ‘crises’ in the international arena (e.g. climate emergency, humanitarian emergencies, Artificial Intelligence and cyber security issues, polarisation and fragmentation of the international order, etc.).

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic individual who is committed to excellence in teaching, research and student support. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and experience of successfully delivering high-quality teaching. We pride ourselves on the support we provide to our students to enhance their knowledge, skill set, confidence and employability. We are especially keen to hear from candidates who can contribute to this important work.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in International Relations or a related field.
