Associate Tutor - Land Law

Birkbeck, University of London, has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Tutor in Land Law to join Birkbeck's Law School and support the team this coming academic year in 2026.

We are seeking an Associate Tutor to teach across the following module:

• LALW096H5 Land Law
• Teaching Wednesdays, 2-3.30pm and 6-7.30pm
• The module is taught over the Spring term, w/c 12 January 2026.

You will have knowledge of English/Welsh contract law and experience of undergraduate teaching and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

As an Associate Tutor, you will also have:

• Passed an undergraduate contract law module, or equivalent, in a common law jurisdiction.
• Advanced experience in teaching and supporting students on academic and research skills.
• A track record of student engagement and want to contribute to an impactful and transformational educational experience.
• The ability able to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate, and has the ability to support teaching.

Contract

Remuneration
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £59.91 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.

This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
