The successful applicant will contribute fully to the life of the School and Faculty through teaching on our undergraduate (LLB) programmes.
What will you be doing?
The Law School is seeking to recruit a temporary Teaching Associate in Law to support teaching in its LLB programmes for teaching block 2 (5th January to 31st August 2026). This is a teaching-focused post which does not include an obligation to engage in academic research. The post is on Career Pathway 3 of the University of Bristol’s academic pathways. The role is to provide seminar teaching in two or more subjects on the School’s LLB programmes, including Tort and Intellectual Property. An ability/willingness to teach in one other of the foundational areas of the undergraduate syllabus would be welcome (contract, tort, criminal, public, EU, land and trusts).
You should apply if
If you possess a good honours degree or equivalent in law (for example, Graduate Diploma in Law); a postgraduate degree in law or a law-related subject (or to be working towards one); or equivalent professional qualification or experience we would like to hear from you.
Relevant experience of successful teaching or tutoring at university level or equivalent; demonstrable ability to carry out academic administrative duties effectively; and excellent written and oral communication skills is an essential requirement.
The post is available from 5th January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post available is full-time; however, the School is open to requests for part-time working. If you are looking for part time, please specify hours in your cover letter.
