The role

This full-time fixed-term post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher with expertise, experience, and/or knowledge in health economic valuation techniques to apply their understanding to valuation studies in the area of measurement of child capabilities for economic evaluation. The post-holder will be situated in Health Economics and Health Economics (HEHP@Bristol) within Population Health Sciences, Bristol Medical School.

Fixed-term funding contract from 1st January 2026 to 6th June 2026.

Full-time preferred, but part-time would be considered (minimum 3 days per week).

Hybrid working is available - to be agreed.

Interviews are likely to be held between 17th and 28th November.

What will you be doing?

This post will entail working on elements from a Wellcome funded Investigator Award (Principal Investigator: Joanna Coast) developing new ICECAP capability wellbeing measures (www.bristol.ac.uk/population-health-sciences/projects/icecap) for children and young people, with a particular focus on the valuation work for these new ICECAP measures, with an opportunity to contribute to both the design and analysis of valuation work.

You should apply if:

  • You have expertise and/or experience in health economics, and particularly if you have expertise in discrete choice or best-worst scaling methods for valuing outcome measures for health economic evaluation. 
  • You have experience of collecting data through online panels.
  • You have strong analytical skills
  • You have experience of obtaining University ethics for research projects.
  • You have excellent organisational skills and an ability to communication clearly
