Based in the school’s Media Unit, the role coordinates the day-to-day running of the service, including provision of advice on equipment and specialist software; maintenance of specialist equipment and software updates for digital learning; updating the Unit’s web resources/digital induction information; coordination of loans of equipment to students and staff and set up and support for the use of screens and AV equipment used in teaching.
You will support the Digital Learning Adviser to enhance learning and teaching through the provision of technology and support the use of new specialist technologies relating to discipline specific needs, providing technical support to facilitate access to this.
The role also provides technical support for student project work across the school, including Live Projects, Theory Forum, Studio open events and the end of year exhibition for both disciplines, making an important contribution to the student experience, including liaison with AV services where appropriate.
The role requires a proactive approach and expertise to offer technical guidance across a wide portfolio of learning technologies and equipment. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are important, as is the ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff colleagues and colleagues across the faculty and central professional services. As such, team working and a flexible approach are important elements of the role.
