The University of Chester is progressing with the MyChester Project, now entering its second year, to upgrade admissions, student records, timetabling and finance systems using the TechnologyOne OneEducation platform as part of its digital transformation strategy.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in delivering this high-profile project, ensuring successful implementation across the institution.

The MyChester Project forms a cornerstone of the University’s broader Digital Chester programme, which aims to create a connected, efficient, and data-driven environment that supports teaching, learning, research, and student success.

About the Role

The Project Manager will oversee the delivery of the MyChester Project within agreed parameters including scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources. Working closely with stakeholders from across the University, TechnologyOne, and implementation partners, the postholder will ensure the effective planning, execution, and transition of this critical system into live service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end planning and implementation of the MyChester Project.
  • Coordinating engagement with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and design key deliverables.
  • Managing project scope, tasks, timelines, interdependencies, and risks.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and realisation of benefits.
  • Providing clear and timely communication, documentation, and reporting to senior leadership and governance groups.
  • Supporting change management and user adoption activities to embed the new platform across the University.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced and adaptable project manager with a strong understanding of project and change management methodologies. You will have a proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder digital or system implementation projects, ideally within a higher education or similarly complex environment.

You will be:

  • A confident communicator and relationship-builder, able to work effectively with academic, professional, and technical teams.
  • Organised and resilient, capable of managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Pragmatic, collaborative, and committed to delivering meaningful change.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the University’s most significant digital transformation projects — helping to shape the systems and experiences that underpin the future of the University of Chester.
