Are you an ambitious Project Manager eager to take on complex and exciting projects?
We’re seeking Project Managers to work across our capital programme, small works and refurbishment projects.
You’ll contribute to the university’s £1.2billion capital programme running over the next 15 years, with the potential to lead a variety of construction and refurbishment projects across accommodation, high tech laboratories, faculty buildings and restaurants.
Capital Works Project Manager
This role offers an outstanding opportunity to lead vital upcoming projects with budgets up to £100 million each across our diverse estate, from our original accommodation and facilities through to new campus upgrades.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of multiple, simultaneous complex projects within our diverse estate environment. This involves close liaison with clients to manage external assessments, design management, contract management, contractor management on-site, strategic procurement, and project handovers.
You’ll take ownership from day one, through to the completion and occupation of buildings.
Small Works and Refurbishments Project Manager
Within this role, you’ll work on a varied set of projects from small (e.g. lighting, carpets, painting) to large-scale maintenance, such as lab installations (e.g. lab gases, benching, power/data for specialist equipment).
You’ll manage expectations and liaise with academics and contractors to ensure your projects are delivered safely and on time.
About the roles
Both roles involve developing cohesive project teams, ensuring that all team members are aligned and working towards common goals. By working closely with various clients and stakeholders, you will guarantee seamless project performance and maintain high standards through quality assurance and risk assessments.
To ensure all aspects are on track and within scope, you will closely monitor project performance, successfully implementing solutions by leading external consultants and contractors, coordinating both the legal and practical aspects of NEC and JCT contracts. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively, meeting all necessary requirements, budgets and client expectations.
You’ll join a growing team managing capital development and day-to-day maintenance projects. We are a supportive, flexible team that promotes a positive work-life balance. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2-3 days on campus per week.
