The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking to recruit a committed, adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced team of academic staff as a 1.0 FTE Lecturer. You must be sufficiently proficient in major programming languages, have a good understanding of software development principles, and be able to adapt to teaching from level 3 to level 7.
Most of the teaching duties for the post will be in the area of Cybersecurity at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, although this may vary.
We are seeking candidates with practical experience in a range of cybersecurity and forensics technical skills, such as network security, penetration testing, defensive programming, and forensics experience in data extraction and analysis.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a PhD in Cybersecurity related areas or with equivalent experience gained in industry.
Duties will include teaching face-to-face and online, setting assessments, marking, and giving feedback, supervision of final year and post-graduate projects, and acting as a personal tutor to provide pastoral support to students. As part of the role, you will be expected to support students in competitions, work-based learning, and other enterprise opportunities.
Furthermore, you will also be expected to contribute to School strategic subject-based, professional or pedagogic research and development and other scholarly activities in order to support your teaching. Staff are also encouraged to develop their external research profile and the appointee to this post will be expected to contribute to one or more of the School’s multidisciplinary Research Groups.
