The Centre for Charity Effectiveness is a hugely successful and influential not- for-profit and philanthropy centre based in the Faculty of Management, Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London. The Centre is known for its wide portfolio of activity across consultancy in the third sector, executive education and knowledge exchange and research.
At an important stage in the future of the non-profit world, the Centre is looking for a new Director to lead the Centre. The new Director wills facilitate research within the Centre, exploring potential partnerships with other areas of the University and the outside world. They will balance the external priorities of the Centre in its engagement with the third sector and its internal challenges and opportunities, creating further connectivity between the sector and the Centre’s academic activity. The postholder will work to increase the Centre’s commercial viability and income. This is a chance for the new Director to take a fundamental look at the Centre’s work and explore new areas where they could generate greater impact. The role-holder will also be appointed as a Professor in Practice to reflect their academic contribution to the Centre and Bayes Business School.
Candidates must be senior leaders with a track record of working across multiple areas of activity and wide-ranging stakeholder relationships. They will have a collegiate and collaborative way of working and enjoy forming connections across the University and the third sector. They will need to bring credibility within the academic environment with an awareness of the world of Higher Education; they will ideally have either a PhD or an established research track record. They will also bring an awareness of the non-profit sector with a strongly outward facing perspective and network as well as experience working on impact and consultancy.
