The Fraser of Allander Institute in partnership with Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) (https://oeuk.org.uk/) are seeking to appoint a KTP Associate to establish an economic intelligence function for the benefit of OEUK members. The post will be based at OEUK premises in Aberdeen with occasional visits to the Strathclyde University campus in Glasgow
FTE: 1 (35 hours/week)

Offshore Energies UK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore energy industry, a not-for-profit membership organisation with a history stretching back five decades. Our membership includes over 400 organisations with an interest in offshore energy with our focus on oil, gas, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, and wind. From operators to the supply chain and across the lifecycle from production to decommissioning, they are safely providing cleaner fuel, power, and products to the UK.
Working together with our members, we are a driving force supporting the UK in ensuring security of energy supply while helping to meet its net zero ambitions. We work on behalf of the sector and our members to inform understanding with facts, evidence, and data, engage on a range of key issues and support the broader value of this industry in a changing energy landscape.
As a KTP Associate, you have a unique opportunity to work with the academic team at the Fraser of Allander Institute and the team at OEUK to develop the tools to tackle some of the main economic questions facing the energy sector. The position includes £2000 per year to spend on personal training, You will be responsible for driving this project, delivering positive change in the sector and potentially having a significant impact on energy policy.
You will receive dedicated coaching, mentoring and personal development, as you manage your own personal training budget. You can choose a variety of training modules during your KTP: project management, marketing and communication, finance, leadership and/or personal development, as well as job-specific technical training.
The project is part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme that aims to help businesses to innovate and grow by working with UK universities. Successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership projects are funded by UK Research and Innovation through Innovate UK and are part of the government’s Industrial Strategy. This post will lead the establishment of an economic intelligence function in OEUK, supported by the expert team at the Fraser of Allander Institute. The Associate will be responsible for gathering and understanding the research questions that are of interest to OEUK members as policymakers in the energy transition space and ensure that the economic intelligence function has the appropriate tools to answer these questions successfully.
