Are you an ambitious early career researcher ready to launch your independent research group? We invite applications for a tenure-track Lecturer and Early Career Group Leader position within our Faculty, offered for an initial period of 3 years. Successful candidates will be supported to apply for external fellowships during their appointment and will benefit from structured career development aligned with agreed objectives to enhance their prospects for fellowship success and long-term academic progression. The role is open across three Research Departments: Metabolic Health, Public Health, and Mental Health and Social Care; there are three posts on offer, and depending on your discipline you will be based in either Norwich Medical School or School of Health Sciences.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a PhD in a relevant field, with post-doctoral experience
  • Experience of planning research, bringing it to publication and producing research with impact beyond academia
  • Have a track record of innovative, impactful research in one or more of the research areas relevant to the School
  • Are building an international and translational research network with the ability to undertake appropriate enterprise and engagement
  • Demonstrate ability to provide academic leadership with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
  • Show evidence of successful applications for external fellowship/grant funding 

These full-time posts are available on a fixed term basis for three years.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, term-time only and/or hybrid working.
