Estates and Facilities are looking for a committed Mechanical and Electrical Chargehand to assist the Mechanical and Electrical Team Leader to oversee the direct labour and contractors’ delivery of all mechanical and electrical PPM and reactive maintenance within time and budget constraints.
The postholder will be expected to support the Mechanical and Electrical Team Leader to plan and organize the provision of a comprehensive mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair service within the Directorate of Estates and Facilities. The postholder will assist in the supervision of up to 7 Mechanical Engineers and 9 Electricians and 5 Trades Assistants. The postholder will also be responsible for the planning, organisation and supervision of mechanical and electrical maintenance contractors.
The postholder will be required to demonstrate that they have up to date knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical systems. They must also be able to demonstrate they can manage direct labour and contractors and demonstrate that they can communicate positively with all Estates and Facilities Staff, contractors, University of Aberdeen Staff and Students.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £38,249 - £45,413 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
