This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Research Governance professional who has previous experience of supporting research ethics review processes and is committed to ensuring that LSHTM researchers meet the highest standards of good practice in research and research ethics.
The focus of the role will be ensure expert support, advice and guidance to the institution for research ethics and develop an appreciation of the international contexts relevant to the research undertaken at the School. You will work closely with the Chair and Co-Chair of the institutional Research Ethics Committees both in London and with research ethics support roles in the MRC units in Uganda and the Gambia to ensure effective and efficient review of research in accordance with LSHTM standards and expectations.
The Research Governance and Integrity Office consists of the Head of Governance and Integrity, a Research Facilitator specialising in clinical trials and NHS research and an Ethics Facilitator.
You should hold a university science or medical degree, or equivalent experience. Experience of working in a research environment, either in academic, medical or pharmaceutical environment along with the ability to critically understand health and social care research methodology is essential. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed-term until 02 July 2026. The post is available from 03 January 2026.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
