About the role:
Applications are invited for a Senior Teaching Fellow in AI to advance the research within the I-X Centre for AI in Science. The Centre is part of an interdisciplinary campus devoted to AI and its applications. It is located within Imperial’s Translation and Innovation Hub (I-HUB) and is co-located with AI academics from across Imperial’s departments and faculties. The I-X Centre for AI in Science supported by Schmidt Science supports over 130 years of prestigious independent and original research by fellows using AI to advance science.
The Schmidt Sciences grant runs for 7 years with up to 38 fellows hosted in any year. Critically it has a strong aspect of training fellows from diverse backgrounds in topics in AI. You will have a key role in enhancing and supporting the research and training of the I-X Centre for AI in Science Fellows.

We understand AI very broadly – and adequate experience would include most topics in modern statistics and topics like Bayesian Machine Learning and Simulation Based Inference (a past research focus on neural network architectures is not a prerequisite): many data driven computational approaches are thus within the AI category.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 4 years. You will be based at White City Campus and become part of a team that driving the research of a cohort of top scholars based in the I-X Centre for AI in Science.
