About the role:
The Fleming Initiative is an exciting new partnership between Imperial College London and Imperial College NHS Trust. The Initiative aims to meet the challenge of antimicrobial resistance by combining research, behaviour change, public engagement, and policy to provide real-world solutions. These will ultimately be co-located in a purpose built Centre at the historic St Mary’s Hospital Campus which is due to open in 2028.
We are now seeking to appoint a Project Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the Fleming Initiative, including providing efficient administrative and management support to the Director of the Fleming Initiative and the Chief Operating Officer.
What you would be doing:
You will support all aspects of governance and decision making, acting as the secretariate to various level meetings providing draft agendas, papers, presentations and minutes and ensuring actions are taken.
You will lead on non-research project management activities, including taking responsibility for the organisation of Fleming Initiative’s convening activities in the areas of; National Action Plans, Education, Surveillance, Fellowships and Diagnostics and organising any Fleming events, meetings and public engagement activities in liaise with the Fleming Events and Communications Manager.
You will act as gate-keeper and point of first contact for existing stakeholders, potential funders, potential collaborators and others and fielding to appropriate members of the core Fleming team and will be required to maintain and nurture the Initiative’s broad network of relationships across Imperial College, the NHS Trust, existing partners and collaborators in health, policy and academia nationally and internationally, liaising as required in the furtherance of the mission and work of the Initiative.
You will contribute to and support fund raising activities, including drafting Fleming Initiative concept notes, prospectuses and research proposals in liaison with Senior Programme Managers, academic staff and other members of the Initiative.
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject and experience of communicating and working at a senior level, preferably closely with an organisation CEO or Head of Academic Department, to build relationships and promote an organisation.
You must have experience of stakeholder, budget and project management.
The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and work under pressure are essential as are outstanding interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), but part-time (0.8 FTE) will be considered for the right candidate.
This role is for a fixed-term period of 3 years initially.
