Are you looking to join a national network that supports the delivery of health and care research across England? Do you have experience in either conducting or managing research with a comprehensive understanding of the UK research process? Do you want to play a pivotal role in the operational delivery of the NIHR RDN’s Portfolio Eligibility Service, ensuring high-quality research is delivered across the health and care landscape? Can you manage a highly motivated and innovative team dedicated to continually enhancing service delivery and customer experience?
As a Portfolio Eligibility Manager, you will manage the operational delivery of the Portfolio Eligibility Service. This involves conducting in-depth, study-level analysis of applications, including protocols and funding documentation, to determine the eligibility of a study for NIHR RDN support and its inclusion in the NIHR RDN Portfolio. This must adhere to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) policy and requires regular liaison with external customers and stakeholders
You will also provide day-to-day management and oversight of the Eligibility Team and be responsible for their direct line management, with a focus on improving service delivery and customer experience.
You will have experience in conducting or managing research in the NHS, a higher education institute, or other health and care settings, and in implementing and providing advice and guidance on policy and process. You will know the UK research process, including the approvals required to conduct research in the NHS and other health and care settings, and have an understanding of charity, Government, and commercial research funding processes.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues within the RDNCC, the wider RDN, and across the NIHR, and liaise with other stakeholders as required. You will support the operational delivery of organisational change, providing mutual support to colleagues, and will be positive and flexible in the way you approach your work and manage your team.
This role will be based in the RDNCC office on Queen Street, Leeds. We work in a hybrid way with an expectation that all RDNCC staff spend at least 40% of their time office. We are also open to discussing other flexible working arrangements.
