The Department of Management at LSE seeks to hire an outstanding Assistant Professor belonging to a newly established Governance, Environment, and Technology academic group within the Department. The Department aims to make this group a world-leading centre of teaching and research in political economy, with applications to the most pressing political and economic challenges of the 21st century. The post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the group and School by publishing outstanding research, engaging in high quality teaching, and participating in group, School and Department activities.
The Department of Management plays a central role in the LSE, a global, single-faculty, social science university located in the heart of London. Faculty members actively engage in research and scholarly activities across LSE, collaborating with research centres such as the Centre for Economic Performance, the Behavioural Lab for Research and Teaching, and various interdisciplinary institutes. The Department’s degree portfolio includes the BSc Management, a Master’s in Management, a number of specialist Master’s programmes, including the MSc in Management and Strategy, and a PhD programme in Economics and Management.
Successful applicants will have or be close to obtaining a PhD, in economics, a closely related social science discipline, or a relevant interdisciplinary field, by the post start date. In addition, candidates should possess expertise and research interests in political economy and the substantive areas of governance, environment, or technology and demonstrate a clear, well developed, and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and have the ability to teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Management.
