Applications are invited for the above Lectureship (Above the Bar) post in the School of Clinical Therapies, in the area of Sports Physiotherapy.  We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative lecturer in Sports Physiotherapy.  The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and supporting the MMEdSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine programme.  The successful candidate will have a professional (clinical) qualification in Physiotherapy and eligible to register with CORU, the statutory body that registers and regulates health and social care professionals in Ireland. Applicants must have a relevant post-graduate qualification and have experience in clinical student education and classroom teaching and learning. The appointee will be expected to be research active, supervise student research and participate in department and college committees.  Reporting to the Head of School of Clinical Therapies, and working closely with the School of Medicine, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and research in Sports Physiotherapy.

The successful candidate will be located in the School of Clinical Therapies and play an active role in supporting and delivering the MMEdSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine programme which is based in the School of Medicine. The Sports and Exercise Masters Programme is a long-established degree of the School of Medicine with a multi-disciplinary clinical professional intake (mainly Physiotherapists and Doctors with interest and experience in the area seeking formal academic professional development). The programme is widely recognized to provide high quality education to enhance knowledge and skills in exercise, health and disease as it applies in the specific context of Sport and Physical, Activity. The appointment of a physiotherapist to join the programme team recognizes the central role for this specialism in the subject area.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Above the Bar) Salary Scale (pro rata): €79,185 - €102,549 (Scale B) / €75,338 - €97,420 (Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
