About the role

The UCL Institute of the Americas is seeking to fill an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) position in Gender, Politics, and Society in the Americas. The position is to cover the teaching of a colleague undertaking a leadership position within the faculty. The postholder will carry out teaching and administration relating to the modules Gender, Politics and Society in the Americas (undergraduate), and Gender, Politics, and Public Policy in Latin America (postgraduate taught). Teaching for the modules will take place on Thursdays and Fridays. The expected starting salary is £47, 451 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance. About you

To be successful in this role, you must have a PhD in a subject relevant to Gender, Politics, and Society in the Americas, either awarded or with viva date set. You must have proven experience of teaching and assessment at university level in the field of Gender, Politics, and Society/Public Policy in the Americas, as well as the ability to convene the relevant modules. You will have the ability to develop, plan and implement high quality and innovative curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and be able to supervise academic work by undergraduate and postgraduate students. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to provide effective pastoral support for students. You will also be willing to share in organisation and management of the department’s teaching programme and other student-focused activities and programmes.
