Do you have sufficient specialist knowledge in architecture and spatial interior design? Are you experienced in teaching and assessment in these areas?  If so, then then this lecturer post may be of interest.

The University of Kent is seeking a lecturer in Architecture and Spatial Interior Design who can deliver excellent teaching and engage in aspects of scholarship and/or pedagogic research in the subject area in support of career development.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of modules and have prior experience of teaching in architecture & spatial interior design.  The focus of this role will be contributing to teaching, administration, and management of the UG Spatial Interior Design BA, but the ability to also contribute to teaching on BA and MArch Architecture courses will be considered favourably.

The role is offered on an Education, Scholarship & Professional Practice (ES&P) contract, appropriate for candidates who are student focussed in teaching and pedagogic research with demonstrable commitment to all aspects of teaching in higher education, including assessment, feedback and academic support.

As a Lecturer in Architecture and Spatial Interior Design you can expect to be involved in:

  • Teaching, convening and examining undergraduate & postgraduate modules
  • Engaging in subject, professional &  pedagogic research as required to inform and enhance teaching activities
  • Attending & participating in appropriate seminars & conferences to support research-led teaching, scholarship and/or professional practice in your disciplinary area
  • Delivering high quality teaching in a variety of settings from small group sessions to large lectures

What will you bring to the role?

  • First degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience
  • Sufficient breadth &  depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to teach within established undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Experience of effective teaching and assessment in the subject area in a higher education setting
  • Track record of, and a personal commitment to, scholarship & developing excellence in the delivery of teaching
