The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to understanding the relationship between emerging technologies and society.
We are looking to recruit a full-time, fixed term Executive Assistant and Research Group Administrator until 27 October 2026 – with a possibility of extension.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to pursue a career in University administration and the post holder will be encouraged to take advantage of the many training opportunities offered by the University.
Working in central Oxford as part of a busy administrative team, you will provide high quality administrative and secretarial support to two Associate Professors; liaising with visitors, dealing with correspondence and telephone calls, arranging meetings and maintaining diary and travel arrangements.
You will also handle the day-to-day administrative coordination of the professors’ research group, such as maintaining reading lists, virtual-learning platforms, lecture slides and hand-outs; sourcing and organising literature or data as requested while keeping shared research folders up to date; and producing clear charts, tables and reference lists that ensure draft manuscripts, grant applications and progress reports comply with required templates and style guides.
It is essential that you hold a professional outlook and provide an exceptional level of customer service at all times. You must have experience of working in a personal/executive assistant role, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in your IT skills.
Experience of working in Higher Education or supporting academic or research activities is desirable.
If you would like to discuss this role, please contact Marie Lemon - marie.lemon@oii.ox.ac.uk. Full details of the role including person specifications are found in the Job Description provided.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement, setting out how you meet the selection criteria, curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of two referees as part of your online application.
Only applications received before noon 26 November can be considered.
