The Scottish Sensory Centre is seeking a Teacher of Autistic Children and Young People with Sensory Impairment.
The opportunity:
This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and on a Fixed Term basis for 1 year from 5th January 2026. We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The post may also be offered as a secondment.
The postholder will design and deliver tailored professional learning courses that support practitioners to develop their practices in teaching and supporting autistic children with sensory impairment and or neurodiverse learners. This includes identifying areas for innovation and improvement in teaching practices related to autism and sensory impairments, contributing to the creation of neuro-affirming resources and materials for professional development as well as supporting other professionals to develop teaching strategies and support approaches based on assessment data.
The postholder will work closely with multidisciplinary team at the Scottish Sensory Centre, which includes experts in deaf education, childhood visual impairment education, braille and learning technologies as well as collaborate with colleagues based at Moray House School of Education and Sport, who research educational experiences and support for autistic/neurodivergent learners.
The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.
