About the role:
An exciting opportunity to join an internationally renowned research group specialising in translational science and drug development. A team led by Professor Tan in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, is investigating the physiological and pathological role of gut hormones and the development of novel peptide therapeutics for the treatment of diabetes and obesity.
What you would be doing:
You will have the opportunity to participate in local laboratory meetings and assist with preparation of grant reports, preparing documentation for CBS project submission and scientific publications. Due to the nature of the role, laboratory experience and a good track record in a similar field would be essential.
We require a focused candidate to support the Professor Tan in the running of assays, testing of compounds, both in vitro and in vivo experiments. The candidate will also have the opportunity to support the translational research work in the clinical research facility. The post provides an excellent opportunity for those looking to engage in a career in translational research.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate must have a strong technical background. Experience with general analytical methods such as radioimmunoassay, RBA, HPLC, ELISA and cell culture is preferred. You will have a degree in a relevant biological discipline and/or relevant laboratory-based experience. A Home Office License (modules 1 - 4) is desirable.
