About the Role
As Security & Commercial Projects Coordinator, you will support the delivery of a varied portfolio of commercial and strategic initiatives within the defence and security domain. The role is centred on enabling effective delivery, providing practical support across a range of activities from contract coordination and supplier processes to financial oversight. Alongside this, you will play an important part in the development of HEECA, a voluntary association supporting security in UK higher education, contributing to event organisation, content development and associated commercial arrangements. With responsibilities shifting according to project needs, the position offers scope for autonomy, adaptability and the opportunity to shape improvements that support both operational delivery and wider sector engagement.
About You
You will bring experience of working in a project or operational support environment, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under minimal supervision. Strong organisational and coordination skills are essential, together with the confidence to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including government departments, industry partners and higher education institutions. You will demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in resolving issues, presenting well-considered solutions and knowing when to escalate matters appropriately. Experience in supporting contracts, supplier processes, or financial coordination would be an advantage, as would an interest in the defence and security sector. A proactive, adaptable approach and a commitment to continuous improvement will underpin your success in this role.
The post holder will be required to undergo a BPSS check prior to commencing the role, with the expectation of undergoing and holding SC level of security clearance once the role has commenced.
