The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Fellow to participate in the Global Health Research Group on Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health (Global CFaH) https://communityfoodplanetaryhealth.org/). This NIHR funded post is available from March 2026 through to the end of July 2026. Global CFaH is an international and interdisciplinary project, led by the Universities of Exeter (Prof Nigel Unwin) and West Indies (Dr Madhuvanti Murphy). The successful applicant will play a key role in the analysis, write up and dissemination of qualitative focus group and interview data collected by partners in Fiji, the Caribbean and the Philippines. Some analyses will involve mixed methods through collaboration with quantitative data leads. In addition, it is expected that they will contribute to the development of plans beyond the current project timeframe, including through leading or being part of new funding applications.

About you

For the PDRA level:

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study such as social anthropology, sociology or human geography with an interest in food systems and/or health and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to insert skills and knowledge required.

For the PDRF level:

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study such as social anthropology, sociology or human geography with an interest in food systems and/or health. The successful applicant to Research Fellow will be a nationally recognised authority in a relevant subject area and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop strong research publications. The successful applicant to Research Fellow will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required.
