Role Summary

We seek a Professor to lead the Computing Science discipline, providing academic leadership, line management, and strategic direction. Reporting to the Academic Provost, the post-holder will deliver high-quality teaching, mentor staff, develop curriculum, and foster industry engagement. The role is research-active, collaborating with Aberdeen campus staff in AI, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Generation, and Human-Centred Computing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum design, delivery, assessment, and programme development.
• Provide academic leadership, including staff mentoring and performance evaluation.
• Conduct research, supervise PhD students, and secure external funding.
• Promote pedagogical innovation and collaboration with Aberdeen campus staff.
• Engage with industry and government to enhance student employability.

Candidate Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or related field, with 10+ years of academic/industry experience.
• Proven excellence in teaching, curriculum development, research, and leadership.
• Experience supervising PhD students and managing academic staff.
