We have an exciting research opportunity for a Research Assistant / Associate to join the School of Psychology & Neuroscience, working in the Pain and Somatosensation research area under the supervision of Dr Andrew Bell (Principal Investigator).
The applicant will make essential contributions to a research programme focussed on the anatomy and function of molecularly-defined subsets of spinal projection neurons.
The successful candidate will have extensive skills in investigating spinal cord circuitry ideally including tracing of ascending neuronal projections and behavioural techniques for functional interrogation of these circuits. They will be self-motivated in designing and executing experiments, with a proven track record in neuroanatomy.
