The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2026 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days per week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of accounting and finance education at the University of Sunderland in London. You’ll deliver dynamic, high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, creating authentic learning experiences that reflect real-world challenges and inspire the next generation of finance professionals. Our programmes combine technical expertise with practical application, so you’ll have the opportunity to bring theory to life through innovative teaching methods and industry-relevant content. Beyond the classroom, you’ll contribute to curriculum development, provide dedicated student support, and engage with external partners to strengthen professional link and helping learners achieve their full potential.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a Chartered Accountant with membership of ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW, who brings substantial practice experience as an accountant or substantial teaching experience in the UK. You will have proven ability to teach across a range of finance subjects, including areas such as Financial Reporting, Financial Management, Taxation, Auditing and Assurance, and Programming and Data Analytics. Strong digital literacy and experience using online teaching platforms are essential, as is a collaborative mindset and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality education. A Higher Education teaching qualification and evidence of building links with industry would be advantageous.
