An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Information and Library Services Directorate, within the University of Greenwich. Our Information and Library Services Directorate delivers award winning IT services and support, library, academic and digital skills and learning enhancement to staff and students across the university. Our digital mission is to ensure everyone in our community is equipped to effectively use digital services, data and technology with confidence, efficiency and creativity in their learning, teaching, research and organisational support.
The University of Greenwich is on an ambitious journey to become the best modern UK university by 2030. We are investing significantly in our digital infrastructure, student experience, and data capabilities. As part of this transformation, we are seeking a certified Microsoft Fabric professional to join our Data & Analytics team and help shape the future of data-driven decision-making across the university.
The Senior Data Engineer is an exciting new role working on the development of our enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric. Within that context, the role holder will be part of the team, with responsibility for the delivery, methods of deployment and management of high-quality business intelligence systems. The enterprise data platform is a key to delivering an enhanced breadth of high-impact analytics and reporting that will support the University’s strategic initiatives.
As Senior Data Engineer, you will be contributing to the transformation of the technology that underpins the way that data is managed, and business reporting is produced. The maintenance, support and enhancement of related systems is key and as such, you should display an aptitude for technical problem solving, root cause analysis and data engineering.
You will have proven experience of large-scale project management, and proactive liaison with all stakeholders. Hence, we are looking for a strong communicator, who is well organised and able to prioritise work under pressure and adapt quickly in a fast-paced IT environment.
