About the Role
We are recruiting a Residential Life Manager to join the senior team in Residential Services. This full-time, permanent role, requires the post holder to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (one week in three), requiring the postholder to be within a one-hour commute to campus whilst on call. To assist with any relocation challenges, a one bedroomed flat, on campus, is offered for an initial period of 12 months after which this provision will be reviewed.
The post holder will manage a team of 2 Residential Life Officers plus up to 25 student staff and will also have responsibility for managing the onsite 24/7 Reception Service which has a team of 5 full-time staff. Key responsibilities involve the planning and implementation of an annual programme of events and initiatives for over 3000 students who live across 5 sites. Queen Mary Halls accommodate a diverse population of students, from varying backgrounds. The role is fundamental in developing a sense of community within all QM halls and the continual development of the services website, to ensure up to date relevant content is a key aspect of the role.
Reporting to the Residential Services Manager, this role focuses on operational delivery and demands flexibility for a 24/7 service. It includes some weekend work and requires professional collaboration with other teams at Queen Mary. The position is crucial for driving standards and enriching student life.
