Student Recruitment Manager

Reports to: Dean/Senior Leadership Team

Our contemporary campus is set within the iconic Velodrome, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, surrounded by lush and relaxing gardens.

Purpose of the Role

The Student Recruitment Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering effective student recruitment activity across the University Campus of Esports. The role focuses on generating enquiries, strengthening recruitment pipelines, and supporting applicants through to enrolment. Working closely with academic teams and in partnership with the Marketing Team, the postholder ensures that recruitment priorities are reflected in campaigns, events, and outreach activity. The manager uses data, market insight, and a student‑centred approach to optimise the applicant journey, improve conversion, and contribute to the achievement of institutional enrolment targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Recruitment Strategy & Delivery
    • Coordinate to the development and delivery of annual recruitment plans to support enrolment targets across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
    • Coordinate the full recruitment cycle, from enquiry generation to conversion and enrolment.
    • Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, agents, and external partners to strengthen recruitment pipelines.
    • Plan and deliver recruitment events including open days, applicant days, campus tours, and outreach activity.
    • Monitor recruitment performance and provide regular reports, forecasts, and insights to senior leadership.
  • Marketing, Brand & Communications
    • Work in partnership with the Marketing Team to ensure recruitment priorities inform campaign planning and content development.
    • Provide audience insight and market intelligence to support targeted marketing activity.
    • Ensure recruitment messaging is accurate, student‑centred, and aligned with programme strengths.
    • Collaborate on content briefs, campaign evaluation, and the development of student‑facing materials.
  • Conversion & Applicant Experience
    • Design and deliver high‑quality applicant journeys from enquiry to enrolment.
    • Implement conversion activities including CRM communications, webinars, taster sessions, and personalised follow‑up.
    • Analyse applicant behaviour and identify opportunities to improve offer‑holder engagement and conversion rates.
    • Ensure all recruitment communications are timely, accurate, and supportive of a positive applicant experience.
  • Market Insight & Data Analysis
    • Use market intelligence, competitor analysis, and sector trends to inform recruitment activity.
    • Track recruitment data and campaign performance to support continuous improvement.
    • Provide evidence‑based insight to senior leadership on emerging opportunities and audience segments.
  • Stakeholder & Partnership Management
    • Work closely with academic teams to ensure programme information is accurate, compelling, and aligned with market demand.
    • Coordinate academic involvement in recruitment events and applicant engagement activity.
    • Represent the University Campus of Esports at external events, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities
    • Ensure adherence to CMA requirements in all recruitment‑related information and communications.
    • Maintain the accuracy and consistency of published information across recruitment channels.
    • Uphold robust data‑protection standards across CRM systems and applicant communications.
    • Support UKVI compliance where the role contributes to or influences international recruitment activity.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

Essential

  • Significant experience in student recruitment or admissions within higher education.
  • Familiarity with HE regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of contributing to recruitment growth and supporting enrolment targets.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, digital recruitment channels, and data‑driven approaches.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Creative, proactive, and student‑centred approach to recruitment.

Desirable

  • Experience in esports, gaming, or creative industries.
  • Experience working with schools, colleges, or outreach partners.

Additional Information

  • Some evening and weekend work will be required for events and recruitment activity.
  • On‑site presence is required to support events and campus‑based activity.
