About the Role
The post-holder will join the Operations team who oversee systems, enquiries, CAS, policy and compliance within Admissions and will primarily support with the CAS and systems processes. They will have a key role in ensuring that Queen Mary’s admissions systems are fit for purpose, by maintaining relevant data in the student records system, implementing enhancements and undertaking troubleshooting, training and supporting users and taking responsibility for good record management. They will contribute to continuous improvement by identifying innovations and participating in process improvement projects. All admissions team members are expected to work flexibly and may be assigned to work across team boundaries at peak times.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have recent experience of working in a Higher Education administrative role, supporting admissions and will also possess a working knowledge of UK visa and immigration regulations and processes.
You will be self-motivated and flexible individual with a customer-focused mindset. You will be equally capable of working independently and as a member of team, with good organisational skills, you will be able to prioritise, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining accuracy. You will be IT literate, with experience of using complex databases in an academic context, and have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. You will be capable of carrying out tasks and making decisions consistently within a clear policy and regulatory framework, referring to managers only in complex cases.
About the Department
The CAS & Technical Officer will be a member of our busy and friendly central admissions team, which handles undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programme applications to all the university’s schools and institutes.
