The University of Aberdeen is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor or Professor to lead the Economics discipline at its new Mumbai Campus, launching August 2026. Reporting to the Academic Provost, the post-holder will provide academic leadership, strategic direction, and faculty management within the Economics department.
The successful candidate will oversee undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, mentor early-career faculty, lead curriculum development, and foster a vibrant research culture. The role includes promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across programmes such as Finance, Business Management, and International Development, and supporting transnational education initiatives. The Economics Lead will also engage with industry, policy, and academic partners to enhance research impact and programme relevance.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Economics or a closely related field, with substantial experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership. Demonstrated excellence in research, innovative, research-informed teaching, and programme design is required, alongside experience in mentoring staff and contributing to strategic academic initiatives.
