Assistant Professor - Computing Science

The University of Aberdeen invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions in Computing Science at its new Mumbai Campus, launching August 2026. These early- to mid-career roles combine teaching, research, and academic contribution, supporting the delivery of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Computing Science.

Reporting to the Academic Provost, successful candidates will design, deliver, and assess courses, supervise dissertations and MSc projects, and contribute to curriculum enhancement. The roles encourage innovative, inclusive, and research-informed teaching, engagement with industry, and participation in interdisciplinary initiatives.

Candidates are expected to conduct cutting-edge research aligned with the University’s strengths in Data and Artificial Intelligence, including areas such as autonomous agents, machine learning, natural language generation, human-centred computing, cybersecurity, and generative AI. Opportunities exist to collaborate with academic staff in Aberdeen and engage with external partners, including industry, NGOs, and government.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with 2–10 years of academic or industry experience demonstrating teaching excellence, curriculum development, and research potential. A strong record of publications and experience in supervising students is expected, along with the ability to contribute to departmental and institutional goals.
