Opportunity Overview
The post holder will utilise their clinical expertise, experience in clinical education including innovative supervision models and/or enhancing and developing clinical education in practice to support the development of clinical education in the Diagnostic radiography workforce, including optimising placement capacity. They will have experience in a leadership role in a health or social care setting innovating and leading change and of supporting learning and workforce development in the practice / clinical environment.

The post holder will have the ability to develop and utilise professional networks to drive clinical education within Diagnostic Radiography including developing communities of practice.

This post is 0.6 FTE for 8 months. We would consider this role as a fixed term contract or as a secondment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of clinical education, working with employers, health professionals and industry partners to maximise placement capacity and scope the needs for clinical education development within Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Increase engagement of clinical tutors operating in GM trusts to collaborate and develop new ways of working with the university and actively support the ‘community of practice’.
  • Broaden work-based learning opportunities available to diagnostic radiography students linked to the University programme and ensure placement capacity is fully utilised and aligned with service needs.
  • Lead initiatives to support mentors, supervisors and assessors in delivering high-quality practice education.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the GM Imaging Network and the NW Imaging Academy strategic plans for clinical mentors, including but not limited to, the monthly clinical tutors’ meetings, the practice education community of practice, and the RENEW project.
