UGM Manchester is a student-centred Higher Education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. As our campus grows, we are looking to employ a Learning Resources Centre (LRC) officer as part of our expanding support team.
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, generally during standard timings, Monday – Friday. However, during term-time, the candidate will assist with staffing our iCentre on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 2100, and all day on some Saturdays between 0900-1730. When there is a requirement to work evenings and Saturdays, time-off-in-lieu during the week will be granted.
The successful candidate will have a student-facing role and will be required to support students with a range of enquiries relating to learning resources and IT. Therefore, the candidate should be highly professional, patient, with excellent oral communication skills. They will be digitally literate and competent in the full range of Microsoft office applications.
The successful candidate will also assist with the maintenance of our physical library and any other learning resources as required. On occasion, the successful candidate will be required to support our reception staff at the iCentre with general administrative tasks, and will support all university events such as graduation and top achiever awards. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and supporting academic staff with all learning resource issues.
Our ideal candidate will be well-presented, professional, diligent, digitally literate, and able to work independently, although on-the-job training and mentoring will be provided. Candidates must have an unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom without caveat. This role is subject to a Criminal Record Bureau check.
