The School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology to develop, lead and sustain research and scholarship of international standard in the subject area of cardiovascular cellular electrophysiology and contribute to the delivery of excellent student experience by delivering, research, teaching, and administration processes to enhance learning and cardiovascular research in the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health.
Applications are invited from candidates who hold a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) or equivalent in related discipline with a growing reputation for scholarship within the subject area Membership of relevant professional body, where appropriate. You should have experience and achievement in the field of cardiac electrophysiology reflected in an expanding personal academic portfolio.
The School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health is one of eight Schools within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow. The School is internationally leading in the areas of research, education (and undergraduate and postgraduate level) and has a wide-ranging internationalization, engagement and enterprise portfolio. Research in the School focusses on the areas of cardiac diseases (including but not limited to ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias and cardio-oncology), metabolic diseases (including but not limited to diabetes and obesity) and vascular diseases (including but not limited to hypertension, cerebrovascular disease and kidney disease), supported by a cross-cutting research theme in cardiovascular data science. The School is proud of its translational research strategy from fundamental and discovery science to experimental medicine, clinical trials and implementation research.
This post is full-time and has funding for up to 2 years.
