Job description:
Are you passionate about public law? Does educating the next generation of legal graduates sound enticing? The School of Law at the University of Sheffield is seeking a Lecturer to teach and convene modules in the area of public law. Our School enjoys an international reputation for excellence in research, for the expertise of its staff, and the achievements of its graduates. Our diverse team aspires to address global challenges following our shared vision to advance the interdisciplinary understanding of law, socio-legal studies, and criminology. We enjoy a global network of research and teaching links, and all undergraduate students are given the opportunity to spend a year abroad with one of our partners. The School’s civic engagement activities and pro bono work connect it with the city of Sheffield, and with partners in the commercial, public and third sectors, nationally and internationally. More information on the School can be found here.
We seek a rounded candidate to carry out high quality research, deliver research-led teaching at UG and PG level, and supervise UG/PG dissertations and PhD theses in the area of public law. The ideal applicant will have an international research profile and a track record of high quality teaching that complements and strengthens the current School membership. Experience in academic leadership and management, together with a commitment to collegiality, inclusivity, and development of early career researchers are desirable. Your knowledge and experience will contribute to the School’s outreach and knowledge exchange (KE) activities within the local community and beyond.
