We’re looking for a talented individual based in the Southwest, ideally in or around Bristol, Somerset, or Dorset. This is a home-based role that requires flexibility to travel across the region as needed. If you’re local to these areas, passionate about supporting students, and eager to promote the university, we’d love to hear from you!
About the department
You’ll be part of the Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement Directorate responsible for a range of university-wide activities which includes teams responsible for organising student recruitment activities, managing the external website; design and digital content creation; campaign management and cycle activity; media liaison via the press office; corporate social media; internal comms for students; corporate events; alumni relations; and external stakeholder management.
Our student recruitment function comprises of the following teams: Student Recruitment and Events, Schools Liaison and Outreach, Admissions and Applicant Experience. Together these teams work with academic schools to deliver on the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment objectives and to meet our widening participation targets. Data and evidence inform decision making to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided to our customers.
About the role
Working within the Student Recruitment and Outreach Team you will provide an important role generating new leads and building relationships with target schools and colleges predominantly in the South West region (South Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall), to support student recruitment targets.
You will have excellent organisational and administration skills to plan and organise attendance at higher education (HE) fairs in schools and colleges to raise awareness of studying at university, in particular, at University of Gloucestershire.
You will have excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to providing pre-entry advice and guidance at HE fairs and through presentations and workshops to a range of students and their advisers/parents/carers.
As part of this role you will ensure methods and processes for data collection and storage of data are GDPR compliant.
In addition, you will be required to analyse a series of metrics to evidence the impact of recruitment activities undertaken and how this contributes to achieving the University’s recruitment targets. Experience of university life or studying in a UK Higher Education context is essential, as is a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and ability to use initiative.
You will be based from home, primarily working remotely, but with a requirement to attend team meetings and key recruitment events at our campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester. You will be required to work some evenings and occasional weekends. You will need to able to travel within your region, and as a result, we are looking for someone with a full UK-valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
