We’re looking for a Senior Desktop & AV Engineer (Software) to join our IT Operations team and lead on the development and ongoing management of our Windows & Apple desktop environments.
The role is the system owner and responsible for our desktop management systems (Intune, SCCM & JAMF) as well as ensuring the operating systems and software on our managed devices are secure, consistent and meeting user requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives on solution design, technical leadership and driving forward modern device management across Microsoft & Apple environments.
Responsible for a small team of engineers, the role will also work collaboratively across IT Operations, lending their expertise to areas such as Microsoft 365, Azure & server management.
Key Skills:
Desktop Management Systems – Extensive experience with desktop management systems (e.g. Intune, SCCM, JAMF) with a hands-on background regarding managing desktop environments.
Windows & Apple – Strong familiarity with Windows & Apple operating systems and software, with theability to expertly troubleshoot escalated technical problems.
Technical Leadership – Ability to provide technical expertise to team colleagues, whilst promoting a customer-focused and proactive service approach.
Planning & Co-ordination – Confident with using own initiative to prioritise & manage technical projects, ensuring key user & compliance requirements are met.
The role is primarily based at Park Campus but required to work across all University locations within Cheltenham & Gloucester as workload dictates.
