About the role

Are you energised by the idea of shaping how people experience change? Do you enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes?

We’re currently recruiting several HR Consultants to join our new People Consultancy Hub — a team who will work flexibly across a portfolio of people-focused projects that support both the HR function and the wider University. As an HR Consultant, you’ll be a key part of this community, contributing to a wide range of initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness, enhance our people practices, and enable positive change.

You’ll work across multiple projects at any one time, often as part of virtual teams that bring together subject matter experts, HR colleagues, and stakeholders from across the University. Whether you’re leading a small-scale policy improvement or contributing to a large organisational design initiative, your focus will be on delivering practical, user-centred solutions that make a difference.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop expertise in organisational effectiveness and design, while also helping to shape how we work as a consultancy function. You’ll be reporting to a Senior HR Consultant and as part of the wider team supported to grow your skills and encouraged to bring your ideas, energy and curiosity.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and contributing to people projects using agile methodologies.
  • Facilitating virtual teams to deliver impactful, user-focused outcomes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to co-design and improve HR policies and practices.
  • Developing your own consultancy skills and contributing to the development of our agile consultancy model.

Our values in action

We’re proud to be embedding a Generous Leadership approach across our work — one that encourages us to step into challenge with courage, compassion and clarity. As an HR Consultant, you’ll be expected to model and champion values that are central to this approach:

  • Authenticity – acting with purpose and enabling self-expression for yourself and others.
  • Empathy – showing genuine care, respect and concern for colleagues and the wider community.
  • Adaptability – enabling flexibility and support that fits people’s unique needs

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience), ideally with knowledge of agile project management.
  • Experienced in delivering people projects, with a good understanding of HR policy and practice.
  • A confident facilitator and communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Inquisitive, adaptable, and motivated by making a difference.
  • Digitally curious and open to new ways of working.

You’ll also bring a collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.
