About the role
We’re creating something new at the University of Bath – and we’d love you to be part of it. Our HR department is forming a dedicated People Consultancy Hub, a collaborative team focused on delivering meaningful change across the University. This is a chance to join from the start and co-create how we work together.
As a Senior HR Consultant, you’ll lead and contribute to projects that matter – from improving policies and processes to supporting organisational design and effectiveness. These projects are about making things simpler, more inclusive, and better for the people who use them.
You won’t be working in isolation. Instead, you’ll be part of virtual teams that bring together subject matter experts, HR colleagues, and end-users. Your role is to help these teams work well together, keep priorities clear, and turn ideas into practical outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong HR knowledge with consultancy skills and a genuine enthusiasm for collaboration. You’ll need to be confident engaging senior stakeholders, influencing decisions, and balancing multiple priorities. If you’re curious about digital tools, open to new ways of working, and motivated by seeing real improvements for people, this is an opportunity to make a positive difference in a team built on co-creation.
About you
You’ll bring experience of leading significant HR projects and working across complex organisations. You’ll be comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels and have the analytical skills to turn insight into action. If you haven’t worked in an Agile environment before, don’t worry – what matters most is your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and deliver outcomes that make a difference.
Why join us?
At Bath, we value authenticity, empathy, and flexibility. You’ll join a supportive team that encourages innovation and collaboration, and you’ll have access to professional development opportunities to grow your expertise. Together, we’re building an HR function that’s modern, client-focused, and ready for the future.
We offer a competitive salary, hybrid working, generous annual leave, and an excellent pension scheme. You’ll also benefit from a vibrant campus community and a commitment to wellbeing and inclusion.
