About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice (ODP) and the BSc (Hons) ODP Apprenticeship at 0.6 FTE. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery and development of high-quality undergraduate education within Operating Department Practice.
You will work closely with academic colleagues, clinical partners and employers to support practice-based learning and ensure graduates are practice-ready, employable and confident to enter the workforce.
The post holder will contribute to teaching, applied research and professional practice in line with Bournemouth University’s strategic priorities, including teaching excellence, inclusive and digital learning, sustainability, and workforce and employability outcomes.
About You
You will be a registered Operating Department Practitioner with contemporary professional expertise. You will bring enthusiasm for student-centred education and a developing academic profile aligned to the Academic Career Framework.
You will need to have experience of teaching or supporting learning in higher education or clinical practice settings, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development, including achievement of professional teaching standards and doctoral-level study where appropriate. We are looking for a collaborative and proactive individual, able to work effectively with students, colleagues and external partners, and motivated to contribute to curriculum innovation, educational enhancement and professional engagement at a local and regional level.
Above all, we are seeking individuals who share our commitment to high-quality Operating Department Practice education and who are motivated to integrate education, professional practice and applied research to enhance student outcomes.
