The University of Hertfordshire is opening a new Medical School with the first cohort of our students starting in September 2026. We have a very enthusiastic team already working on the project, with City St George’s Medical School, University of London, acting as our sponsor. We are now expanding our team to develop and fully implement the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) programme and are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our Student Administration Service as Team Leader for Assessment and Student Records (MBBS).
Main duties and responsibilities
You will lead on the development, management, and implementation of all MBBS assessments, including in-person examinations, clinical competency assessments and coursework submissions. Alongside this, you will oversee the maintenance of all MBBS student records, supporting statutory reporting and progression processes. You will also advise on assessment regulations and student progression matters.
Skills and experience required
We are looking for someone with significant experience in complex administration, ideally within assessments and/or student records as well as experience working with student record systems and handling complex data issue. You will have a strong working knowledge of academic regulations and examination processes, excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy. Attention to detail and strong communication skills and the confidence to work with academic colleagues at all levels is essential.
Proven experience of managing staff and leading teams is essential and experience of working on professional programmes (such as MBBS or healthcare education) and familiarity with clinical assessments and standard-setting methods would be highly advantageous.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven administrative experience.
