About Role
The Hospitality Manager is a senior post within the Catering & Hospitality service and reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager. The Events & Hospitality Department currently provide hospitality across all Queen Mary campuses and the post holder has overall responsibility for the management and operational delivery for all hospitality events and functions including, guest dinners, weddings, conferences, academic functions and business meetings. This area of business has grown significantly in the last 12 months, income is rising to £2m per annum, forecast to rise to £3m in the next 18 months.
About You
You will be an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership and operational management skills, experienced in delivering high-quality food services across multiple sites, ideally within higher education or similar. Commercially minded and experienced in resource and budget management, you will drive service improvement, identify growth opportunities, training needs and ensure alignment with the university’s strategic goals. A skilled communicator and team leader, you will motivate staff, foster collaboration, and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders. You are highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage day-to-day operations seamlessly, resolve challenges swiftly, and consistently deliver outstanding hospitality experiences that embody a world-class service culture.
