The Role

We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE). The individual selected for the position should possess a demonstrated track record in teaching, research and publication or equivalent relevant industry experience that aligns with their career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Masters in Integrated Design in Maynooth University. Teaching duties will primarily involve postgraduate programs, along with active involvement in supervisory roles for master's and PhD students.
This position is open to applicants of all disciplines within the field of electronic engineering, but we would welcome applicants with expertise in the areas of integrated circuit design (digital, analog, mixed signal), IC verification, artificial intelligence & machine learning, signal processing, hardware programming languages and digital systems, computing and programming etc. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and enhancement of a European pedagogical approach to the delivery of the academic curriculum in the MEngSc.
The successful appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of an international standard. Theywill be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports Maynooth university’s research strategy including affiliating to its research institutes where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research projects. They will also be expected to seek and, where feasible, facilitate links between research activities in Maynooth University and Industry.

Masters level postgraduate teaching duties are assigned by the Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering in Maynooth University. These duties will include:
Teaching and assessing students at postgraduate level. This may include lecturing, tutoring, leading practical learning activities, project supervision, and setting, supervising and grading assessments;
