Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an IT & AV Support Team Leader to join the Information Services Team providing a high-quality, responsive support service to all University staff and students.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join us as IT & AV Support Team Leader, where you will directly influence the success of teaching, learning, and research.

We are looking for a leader to not just manage, but to inspire a skilled team at the frontline of technology delivery. The role is offered on a permanent contract, full-time, 35 hours per week covering a shift pattern from 8am - 8.30pm, with a salary of £44,247 rising to £50,379 per year.

As IT & AV Support Team Leader you will:

  • Lead and motivate a talented technical support team, coordinating day-to-day activities and ensuring consistent service delivery across our estate.
  • Take ownership of incident management and champion service excellence, ensuring quick, effective resolution for staff and students.
  • Be a direct contributor to our ambitious future, including supporting our ongoing digital transformation programme and the significant upgrades to our teaching spaces.

To succeed as IT & AV Support Team Leader you will need:

  • Proven experience of delivering hands-on IT or AV support in a busy, customer-facing environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate a technical support team, guiding their development and performance.
  • A strong understanding of incident management and modern service desk operations.

Salary and benefits:
£44,247 rising to £50,379 per year. Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London weighting allowance.

Contract:
