Background
The Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange team supports City St George'sacademics in maximizing the impact of their research through business engagementand knowledge exchange activities. The Business Engagement & Knowledge ExchangeOfficer is a key position within our team, coordinating activities that connect universityexpertise with industry partners. This role facilitates consultancy, contract research,Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Innovate UK funding, and use of specialist facilities,ensuring projects commence efficiently and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities
The post holder will coordinate the setup and contracting of consultancy projects,industry-funded research, and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, working closely withacademics, Schools, and external partners. You'll support Innovate UK applicationsthrough costing and project management, ensure compliance with University andexternal requirements, and provide professional advice to researchers on businessdevelopment opportunities. The role involves problem-solving, risk analysis, effectivecommunication with diverse stakeholders, and marketing the University's knowledgeexchange activities to promote collaboration Person Specification We seek a degree-qualified candidate (or equivalent experience) with knowledge ofuniversity business development including consultancy, KTPs, Innovate UKopportunities, and contract research. You'll have experience coordinating knowledgeexchange activities and advising academics, with excellent customer service andteamwork skills. Essentia l attributes include strong organizational abilities, excellentwritten and oral communication skills, problem-solving capabilities with attention todetail, and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Formal training in universityconsultancy is desirable
