About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer to join the School of Psychology and Vision Sciences at the University of Leicester. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery and development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including BSc Psychology and our Distance Learning MSc Coaching Psychology and MSc Psychology of Coaching. You will design and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment materials, supervise student research projects, and play an active role in curriculum development and teaching innovation to enhance the student experience.
You will also have opportunities to engage in pedagogical and psychological research, sharing your expertise across the School, College, and wider academic community. This is a dynamic role that combines teaching excellence with scholarly activity, supporting our mission to inspire and empower students while contributing to the University’s reputation for impactful education.
About you
You will hold a PhD or near completion (or equivalent) in Psychology or a related discipline and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A recognised academic teaching qualification (such as HEA Fellowship) is essential, along with experience supervising student research projects. You will demonstrate a commitment to innovative teaching methods and have published pedagogic or subject-related research.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to teach a broad range of topics, and proficiency in using virtual learning environments are key requirements. Experience in distance learning and blended teaching approaches is desirable. Above all, you will share our values of inclusivity, inspiration, and impact, and be passionate about supporting students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
